It is two years since I last did a review of this restaurant. Since we live not far away, at least once a month we pop in for dinner (when it is open). Nothing much has changed a serious criticism at a time when so many Spanish restaurants are having to keep ahead of the trend to stay in business. We ate well: we almost always do. Prices are a little on the high side, but not excessively. But it is not a restaurant to awake any passion, much less fidelity. The restaurant was very busy tonight but the clientele has changed. If once there were lots of foreign tourists, tonight there were none. I suspect that a number of the clients tonight were from the nearby Urbanización Roche Nuevo, sick and tired of being ripped off and poorly looked after at the only restauarant there, El Timón de Roche. But I have no evidence of that. They won't have been ripped off tonight and probably enjoyed their meal. We did, too.
We've eaten there twice and it was always great. The service couldn't be better and the food was superb. The clams were just delicious, the best ones I've had in the last years. The tuna tartar was extremely tasty as well as the tuna Tataki. We also had fish (pargo) and it was excellent. Very good quality price. You shouldn't miss this restaurant even though is out of town.
The food was excellent here, the chef has earned 2 prizes (1st 2nd 2013/2014) for his tuna dishes. All the ordered items were delicious and carefully prepared. The service was excellent (always serving from the right, attentive and friendly). Although it's pretty far off on the map i'd highly recommend this place to eat out!
If you have a car or hire a taxi, the trip will be worth your while. This is a traditional andalusian restaurant with very good food. The tuna tartar and tortitas de camarones (shrimp fritters) are very good and the tuna sashimi was exceptional. If you save room for desert try the white chocolate flan with pine nuts.
