We ate here a few times while in Appenzell. Our server was always friendly and entertaining. Fast service and generous portions. Our favorites were the arrabbiata pizza and the chicken curry pizza. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the service was terrible.We had a couple beers in other locations (we were 15 persons.) We had a reservation at this place in the evening.In the beginning the boss (shown in the picture) was really nice and funny. Suddenly, when we wanted to order the food, he began to threaten us (he wanted to kick us out).We had a discussion about our behavour but we could not find any disturbances".He told us we could lrave now or he could order our food.In the end, we paid the beers we drank and left.We ate at another restaraunt and will never return to this location.
We ate here tonite and it was wonderful! Adam was very helpful and welcoming. We had a shrimp tapas that was an awesome start! My husband had the meat loaf and mashed potatoes that he said was like home...I had the cordon bleu and it was very tasty. If you come to Appenzell this is a lovely choice.
We ate here on a weeknight at the upstairs pizzeria. The weather was not good for dinning on the large outside upstairs patio :-( we would have liked that! The inside atmosphere is nice with stone walls and wood furniture. The full glass window across the room made the night lights shine in, creating a nice environment for dining. The waitress quickly came by and got our drinks, Appenzell bier and a nice Swiss white wine. I started to order in German, she quickly changed to English. I had the Quattro stagioni pizza and it was delicious. We would be happy to eat here again and will do so on our next trip!
