Man braucht ein dickes Fell, um mit dem kalten, unhöflichen Verhalten des Besitzers und des Personals gegenüber Nicht-Schweizern klarzukommen. Das Essen war anständig, wurde aber schlecht serviert – zuerst wurden alle Männer bedient, was nicht der richtigen Etikette entspricht, und wir lachten alle über die leeren Plätze vor den Frauen. Außerdem drängten sie uns ihre „begleiteten Weine“ so sehr auf, dass sie uns nicht einmal einen Blick auf die Speisekarte für einen Aperitif erlaubten. Keiner von uns wird zurückkehren. Das Hotel Kraft hatte ein viel besseres Essen und einen viel besseren Service.

we wanted to spend a nice culinary evening with friends. Unfortunately, this was not possible in the bonvivant. eating is good, but hasn't convinced me 100% personally. the service in such a restaurant should not miss anything - the hostes are already striving, but unfortunately somewhat down from above. on mine, please, if I should have salt and pepper, I got to answer that he cooked it right. taste is now different from person to person and for me it belongs to a beautiful piece of meat that I can season this myself after my taste. sure there are people who can spend great and culinary evenings there, unfortunately we do not belong to it. in the total package the price-performance ratio is not true at all. very bad.

This was my second visit to Bonvivant. My first being around a year ago, I had read all of the reviews before, and the Ines that say it's terrible all talk about great food but, poor or rude service...On both visits this restaurants food and service has been excellent. Both the waitress and owner were on hand at various points and able to, not only provide insight into the food but also the excellent t wine pairings. Bonvivant isn't cheap, and rightly so, the food is excellent. Well seasoned, ever changing and entirely enjoyable. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and look forward to my 3rd visit.The owner was even so kind as to ask us if we would like to stay post midnight to usher in a friends birthday, providing us with a comfy seating area and drinks even though the restaurant had been closed for some time. To top this off as we left, after having a lovely, relaxed drink and for 2 of us a chat with the owner, the birthday boy was gifted a lovely homemade marmalade and hand written message.A thoroughly lovely evening of great food and wine.I have not.l noted the specific dishes as the menu changes with the seasons and local availability, as it should and can with such a skilled and passionate team in the kitchen and front of house.Thank you

What a fantastic restaurant! Locally sourced produce cooked with care and exquisitely presented. The host was charming and engaging. Oh and those cheeses!

although the dame was not outstandingly friendly when booking on the phone, I would give this restaurant full score. very exceptional concept. We were taken with you at reception with the sacks. the ambiente should not be disturbed. the device is very creatiw and beautiful and shaped by designer pieces. the restaurant fits well into the artistic basel. Eating was very delicious and is prepared only with regional, qualitatiw high quality products. in another restaurant, the cook had a star. nice place!

Wir, seit über 30 Jahren, singende Feinschmecker, die einfache gute Küche ebenso wie 3-Sterne-Restaurants, waren schlichtweg enttäuscht! Wir kannten das Konzept von früheren Besuchen und hatten daher weder im Lokal noch auf dem mit einem Knickgeschmack gerechnet Teller.Aber wenn Purismus darin besteht, den Tisch zu verwirren, unbequeme Anlässe zu sitzen und in kleine Portionen zu vermischen, sagen wir einfach:SRY boudie vin!

the schürmann cooks great! this is my conclusion after several nights in the run of the last 2, 3 years. And it surely pulls me back into the bonvivant, even if the overall experience was not a round thing there every time. it seems to me that the feeling is welcome, depending on the type of day the hostess, rather fluctuates, let’s say so ... at some days, woman of gunten radiates a prominent ( sometimes slightly blasphemed) attitude and is more likely to bring her plan to the man than to meet the Vis-a-Vis with something open gpathi. I've already felt like other prescribes, even if something didn't fit and was named like that, or when Mitesser started to change. so stays with as a conclusion perhaps to say: take it or leave it! But because I like his food to the pumpkin, I will still come back!
