The foods, the people working and the owners are the best! Plus the cozy place... this one deserve more than 5 stars!
I went here for lunch with a friend. As it was a beautiful day we sat on the terrace, pleasantly situated under trees. We were given the menus to look at quite promptly but had to attract the waitress's attention to order. We chose one of the dishes of the day (fish), preceded by a gazpacho. The soup arrived within a reasonable delay (very good gazpacho) but an hour later we were still waitng for our main course. After attempting to catch somebody's attention, our initial waitress came over and sheepishly told us that they had no more of that fish left. After discussing with her, she agreed to offer us one of the fish on the menu for the same price as the initial dish of the day, with the same garnishes. When it finally turned up, it was well served and tasty. Luckily, my friend and I were not working that particular afternoon as we received our coffees (that were offered to compensate the long wait) just before 2.30 pm! I will go back some time to see if we were just very unfortunate or if it is always so chaotic. I have no complaints about the quality of the food.
We went to this restaurant to have a celebration meal for my Grandsons 16th birthday. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant clean and tidy. We ordered our meals and were also given a free pizza for us to share whilst waiting for our food. The staff found out that it was our grandsons birthday and when he ordered his sweat they added a couple of candles and sang happy birthday to him, which we all thought was brilliant but embarassed him. When the bill came it was cheaper than we all thought it would be so it is not only a good restaurant it is also reasonably priced.
Wir gingen zum 16. Geburtstag unserer Söhne und es war toll. Die Preise sind für die Schweiz nicht zu teuer und das Essen, das wir bestellt haben, war köstlich. Als es unser Sohn Geburtstag war, legten sie Kerzen in seinen Dessert und sang Bon Anniversaire ihm. Die Person, die uns diente, war großartig und sehr freundlich, sogar für die Menschen, die nicht sprechen/verstehen Französisch. Wird definiert wieder gehen, da es nur 5 Minuten von wo wir leben.
Vaste Wahl der Nahrung und das Fleisch ist erstaunlich. Gut gekocht und serviert. Aus lokalen Produkten. Schöne Wahl der lokalen Biere, die den Versuch wert sind. Wenn Sie dorthin gehen, werden Sie eine gute Zeit haben!
My daughter suggested we dine at this very traditional Swiss bistro. I found the prices were very fair for the quality of the food, service and decor. It is elegant and rustic with exposed stone walls and wood beams. The dining room is pretty vast but charmingly broken up into small subsections by the architecture. Cloth table linens, candles, no blaring obnoxious music, and the service could not have been more charming and attentive. I had la chasse (wild game). Beautifully served and delicious pheasant in honey with all the traditional garnish, including chestnuts, brussel sprouts, braised red cabbage, braised spiced peaches and cranberry sauce, and späetzle. Beautiful salade mêlée to start. My daughter loved her meal too. I can 't remember what she ordered. They gave us free digestifs after we had tea and coffee, which is very unusual in Switzerland and it was really sweet of them. I highly recommend this place. They have a huge terrace with giant trees where one can dine outside in the fine weather. We are definitely planning to come back.
We went especially for game, which is in season. When I called to make the reservation, the lady asked me to call back--too busy. We finally made the reservation and were well greeted, but service went downhill from there. Our waitress had 5 tables, but for some reason, she was really struggling to keep up and wasn't very efficient. However, the food was worth the wait. We ordered 4 of the 5 options on the menu. All were delicious, well presented and nice-sized portions. We also ordered 2 starters, the ravioli and the fricassee des champignons, amazing! The terrace must be really nice in summer, I will go back despite the slow service.
Situated next to the Forest of Sauvabelin, this restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with a nice terrace. We always come with our dog and eat with him on their beautiful terrace. Monday nights are one of the best values in Lausanne; all pizzas are 9.90 CHF, and my husband and I leave after two beers each with a tab of about 40 CHF. Really, on Mondays it's hard to beat the price, and the atmosphere is one of the best in Lausanne. We've tried their rostis and meats, and they are good too, albeit a bit more out of our usual price range. Highly recommended for pizza on Mondays; the other nights, come too but depending on if you can afford 40 50 CHF per person.
