The food is nice and fresh, and there's always a wide choice of "menus du jour" at lunchtime. Friendly and efficient service. Lovely terrace. Prices are reasonable.
Salade Smash is very good, I recommend it. When it's sunny you can eat in the terrace which makes it a very nice place for lunch.

It is a restaurant in a sports complex but the terrace overlooks the pool and it is very pleasant. from the play of the day, to all the dishes of the card, everything is succulent. We go there regularly to eat the lunch and I was never disappointed. I recommend all people who love meat to go to this restaurant because quality is there. Little more for the red curry chicken, a slaughter!
We were hungry after our 11 am tour of CERN, and asked our guide where we could eat nearby. He suggested the only thing was Le Smash, which was across the road from the Visitors Center. It is part of a sports club, and we ate outside on a well shaded patio overlooking garden and pool. The price seemed a little high for lunch at nearly 20 CHF each, but the salads were ample and delicious. I had the salad with shrimp/prawns and smoked salmon, with a delightful dressing, my partner had the salad with ham and cheese. I followed up with the cafe latte which I found to be a little weak, but I do like my coffee strong. The bread plate was good, not served with oil or butter but it wasn't so dry that it needed eitherThe staff were friendly and able to work with my limited recall of French. It was a relaxed atmosphere and I would recommend it.
Following a visit of CERN, my partner and I walked 5 minutes to this wonderful restaurant situated on the Swiss-French border. There is a pool and other exercise activities available if you want to make a day of it. The staff speak limited English but this didn't seem to be an issue. The menu has since been updated from the one on their website so don't bother looking on it. They offer pastas, salads, several meat dishes and desserts. I had a beautiful cut of beef while my partner had a tagliatelle dish. Both were excellent and the atmosphere was good. The prices of the food were average for Switzerland so don't expect to eat on a budget but it's not too expensive here :).
