We chose this restaurant because it had outdoor seating which was under cover in case the rain came back. Not perhaps the most informed way of choosing, but we struck lucky. 'You must try tartes flambees' everyone had said, but we were a little reluctant as those we had seen in passing elsewhere looked as if they might be far too much for lunch. But we took the plunge here and were well rewarded. I chose the asparagus tarte, as the restaurant specialises in local asparagus when in season. I forget the name of my husband's choice - probably forestiere as it had mushrooms with ham and cheese. They arrived after a reassuringly long wait, crisp and hot. And so light! A pizza of that diameter would be much too much, but here the base made even the thinnest pizza look heavy. Absolutely delicious. We scoffed the lot!

The wind was whistling through the narrow streets of Kayserberg. We walked in and were greeted by a courteous lady and led to a table on the level above the main floor. Menus were distributed. On the sound system the BeeGees were singing " Stayin' Alive" , a bowl of steaming soup along with crusty bread was being served. Does it get any better than this? For main course my wife had a schnitzel in a cream sauce while I had pig knuckle with sauerkraut. A pitcher of Alsatian Pinot Gris accompanied our lunch. Both dishes were very good. The bartender was happy to talk to some Texans and he told us of a special attachment to this area of Alsace and Texas.

Dined here twice during our 3 night stay in Kaysersberg. The staff were fantastic - we had the same waiter both nights & he was a real character.Great to try the local specialty foods - ham hock & sauerkraut, baeckaoffa, Black Forest cake, etc. Our waiter Recommended a local Pinot Gris which we really enjoyed & price overall was very good.Would dine here again!

Located in this beautiful village that really deserves a stop, the restaurant offers a nice room dowstairs, ( but not so nice upstairs). Service is friendly (we speak french ) and the tarte flambees and desserts are lovely!! They also offer other alsacian specialities that looked very apetizing. Lots of locals go there and prices are fair too.
