We had a lovely holiday. Found the hotel very nice, clean with a great view on the mountains but we felt the staff was feeling the pressure of the Christmas guests coming and we have seen the service change as the days went by. There was no consistency with the room. Never knew if we had to ask for towels and to get the sofa bed done or not. (We asked the first night and we were told they put it away in the morning to then do it again in the evening. We got back from dinner at 9pm and it wasn’t done and had to call in to ask) Room was one day done, the other it wasn’t and had to ask for it. The gym wasn’t kept stocked with water and towels. The stuff was constantly going back and forth the staff storage that is (for some reasons) located inside the gym. Yoga mats disappeared and reappeared the following day. We were asked to wait to get into the heated pool as they were taking photos but once they were done, they readjusted the Sun beds, took the towels and left. If you make an effort to show the hotel at its best in the photos I think you should keep that standards when you have the customers there too. Jacuzzi was closed. The kids room wasn’t available. Found the prices very high. €23 for a cocktail? €30 for a breakfast per person? Again.. it’s all well and good if the standards are kept high and i haven’t felt like they did with us.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Grandes Rousses, and I cannot express how impressed I am with the overall experience. From the moment we arrived, the level of service from the staff was nothing short of exceptional. A special shout-out goes to the concierge, whose assistance proved invaluable during our stay. On one of the busiest days of the year, when it seemed impossible to secure a taxi, he went above and beyond to arrange a transfer for us. The dedication and resourcefulness made our day and truly exemplified the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction. As for the hotel itself, it is nothing short of breathtaking. The attention to detail in the decor, the comfort of the rooms, and the overall ambiance exceeded our expectations. I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Grandes Rousses for creating such a memorable stay. It's not just a place to stay; it's an oasis of comfort and hospitality. The hotel was in a great location, staff where mostly friendly. The hotel pre authorised my credit card three times with no way of an apology. The boot room where to store your ski`s is not a great place, the floor is always soaking so you need anther pair of shoes to walk down in but they are not really secure. I had my ski poles go missing. Breakfast is manic but overall, the location, rooms and pool is lovely.
The best hotel of 6 on our Alps cycling trip. Beautiful views, great pool/Jacuzzi/sauna view of the Alps from inside the sauna! . Really nice bar/lounge area and a great restaurant. Our only complaint on the dinner was that it simply wasn't enough food for hungry cyclists who'd ridden 100km and climbed 3000m!
