Airport restaurant, Ganderkesee Today there was a flying in of small airplanes, so we went to see and have our lunch at the hotel restaurant. The weather was perfect and we sat outside and enjoy fresh air and see airplanes off and landing. The terrace was nice... and comfortable. The menu was large and seasonal dishes on offer were asparagus. The restaurant was about 70% profession. Although the staff worked very hard, the kitchen did not seem to be maintained. Diners had to wait long before the dishes arrived. They were aware that it was a fly-in day with more diners than usual and should be better prepared. My green and white asparagus salad with smoked salmon and mini-hush brown were impressing (12,90€). While the amount was sufficient, the asparagus was not good. They seemed to be lower cuts of vegetables and were pretty hard. A few green asparagus tips that were over boiled and muddy. Unequal sizes told me that they are made only the discarded or abandoned parts of cooked asparagus together in a vinaiigrette sauce, without imagination or love. The sauce lacked subtlety and contained large chucks of scorpions. It was also on the underseasoned side. When it was served, some salad leaves were already spoiled as if the dish had been left unnoticed by the serving staff for some time. It wasn't too bad, but we probably won't come here to eat.
Wir waren zum zweiten Mal dort wegen der Hauptattraktion, der kleinen Landebahn, so dass Sie kleine Flugzeuge kommen und gehen sehen können. Wir entschieden uns diesmal, dem Restaurant eine zweite Chance zu geben und entschieden uns für das Frühstücksbuffet zum Preis von 14,90 EUR pro Person. Leider war das Wetter ziemlich schlecht, so dass kein Flugzeug in Sicht war. Der Service war im Allgemeinen langsam, das Essen war langweilig, nicht viel Aufregendes und für die Qualität des Essens und der Zutaten, die man bekommt, sehr überteuert. Sie können die geringe Qualität der verwendeten Lebensmittel und Getränke schmecken. Wenn Sie so viel Geld für Essen ausgeben, würde ich Ihnen wärmstens empfehlen, woanders hinzugehen.
We were for the second time because of the main attraction that is the small airstrip so you can see small airplanes coming and going. This time we decided to give the restaurant a second chance and go to the breakfast buffet at a price of 14.90 EUR per person. Unfortunately, the weather was pretty bad, so no plane in sight. The service was usually slow, the food was bland, not much to get excited, and very overpriced for the quality of the foods and ingredients you get. You can cost the low level of food quality and drinks that are used. If you will spend so much money for food, I would recommend you to go elsewhere.
No Frills restaurant on a airfield. Eating is honest and hearty German favorites like Schnitzel, Spachtel and Krautsalat are on the menu. The service is warm and friendly. No English menus, but some of the staff speak. It is located directly on an aerodrome, so... You can observe that small airplanes get out, parachutes, cloud divers, etc. Nice to dine outside when the weather allows!
