The Al Ponte is one of your best choices if you need to get people from all over together in one place without anyone grumbliung they had to drive much farther than that other dude, etc. It's strategically placed right off the most highly frequented stretch of the major freeway in Switzerland between the capital, Berne, and Zurich, the country's business center. It's not exactly equidistant from the two cities, but if you throw in Basel, the Swiss pharma, chem and banking mecca, as a third player, you couldn't do any better. It's literally right off the freeway, less than a quarter mile from the exit ramp and beside the Aare River, hence the name. So much for location, which is tops. Ad even though the freeway is so close, you can't hear the noise from it once you are inside. The place is a sprawling amalgam of wings and tracts, with a large parking lot. I was there last Saturday for a meeting of around 200 people. The Al Ponte offers, apart from the regular and very nice and cosy restaurant several meeting rooms of various size, with lots of space in the halls and foyers for aperos and standing around space. The whole place is cheerful and bright and inviting. All the staff we interacted with were very nice and friendly and eager to make sure the guests all got what they asked for, and swiftly. Our food was very good as well. The salad was tastefully arranged and decorated, and with just enough dressing I hate it when they drown your salads in a tsunami of sloshing goo the main dish, rice with chicken curry ... well, the portions were a bit on the small side, and the rice was a bit crunchy around the edges culprit: Microwave ... but as I've said, around 200 people were supposed to be eating more or less simultaneously ... a bit of a feat, that, for the kitchen staff. Dessert was a very tasty cream misnomed creme brule there was nothing brule about it, but it was absolutely delicious. We let the waitress put one down at the unoccupied space at the ed of our table and dug our spoons in four of us, to finish that extra one in record time as well. So all in all I can very highly recommend this restaurant, for a private visit and especially for meetings it's also a hotel, so no need to drive back or on to where ever ... Interesting little fact: the big conference room we were in was deocrated with large pictures of famous bridges around the world; in connection with the Al Ponte's name.
Good and attentive service from the staff,although I'm not a big fan of creamy or cheesy style cooking foods but I do enjoy the fish fillet typically from this country.While the Zurich style beef is good but
nice hotel, easily accessible from Motorway, nice rooms, good and modern furniture, nice breakfast above average, nice and large showers. Hotel has also a good restaurant. Service is always very good
Great for families, and great to enjoy a quality lunch 1min away from the highway. Super friendly service with the kids. Small park outside and toys inside.
