I already wrote a few words about the restaurant in my review of the Edelweiss lodge (part of the Alpenrose hotel). I had this incredibly tasty vegetable burger with potato wedges and salad. Everything was just exactly right: the burger was tasty and had the right structure, the wedges were crispy instead of fat and/or dripping, with only little salt (huray!), and the salad was quite a bit more original than the regular green leaves, with home made croutons. I loved this food so much I could go back to Winlderswil just to have dinner here again.
Visited this place on a Sunday night, recommended by our hotel. It seems that the menu has been updated, a bit different from the one they posted online (prices are different too, more expensive now).Prices of food are reasonable (in Swiss standard). e.g. CHF4 for a glass of wine, CHF16 for cheese fondue. The place itself is very big and the waitress and waiter were both quite friendly and chatting with the guests. Quality of food was average but not fantastic.
Located just next to the hotels, same owner. Didn't expect they had such huge restaurant, cafe's just in front of the cashier and restaurants and outdoors were very huge space for coverage of group visit. Very good services, Friendly and helpful. The food is so far so good. We order fish and chips, Spring rolls and wine, price is fair enough for such beautiful places and romantic.
As we would not understand what items were, on the menu, we basically thought we could not go wrong with cheese toast, however, it was far too much cheese, which drowned out the toast and it ended up being greasy. Not a fan of this item, but I think this is the way they eat in Switzerland.
