we have been eating in alvaros for 38 years and I have never had a disappointing meal. the choice is amazing. you are always cooked to perfection. you steak in her mouth. I love the dishes they cook at their table. my man always has the mariscos espetada. it is a spectacular dish of garnel and skalopps wrapped in speck hanging on a spits above her teller with garlic butter drops from him. he loves it. I try to have different dishes of the main course, but tend to have fresh asparagus with olive oil, garlic and parmesan for my first course. the economical is thick, juicy and tender and simply delicious. the dessert trolley is mouthwater and its cheese plate has a good selection of quality cheese. a good selection of champagne, weeping and spirituous. the waiters are cleverly dressed and know about the menu. it is really the best restaurant in the city for me. I can't praise them enough.
best restaurant in the city for old fashion service (i.e. very friendly and attentive) and delicious food. Many of the dishes are served with delicious rich sauces and some are actually freshly cooked next to their table. many delicious Portuguese dishes as well as French and other haute cuisine. freddy has operated this place for decades and always buys fresh products so that the special menu can vary daily. it is fucked away, but easy to find, from the hamlet court rd and there is always parking near or even outside in the evening. an unforgettable eating in traditional environment is worth a visit.
wonderful! as restaurant should be, excellent service very friendly courtesy coworkers. still has the trolley for filling flaming on the table the delicious dessert car. large menu, a lot of choice, eating out was perfect. cozy bar to sit have a drink during the decision on the menu. our favorite restaurant from now on, just wanted us to live closer. thanks to alvaros!
All I can say is wow !! I took my parents and wife to your restaurant this evening, I drove down from Orpington in Kent, I am well and truly stuffed, the menu choice was vast, boy did you deliver, we will be back, so highly recommended....
