Visited the cafe d'anniviers for an evening meal and was not disappointed. I had a selection of cold meats and cheese with some bread which was excellent. Staff were very polite and attentive but did take quite a long time to take your order after seating us. That said the restaurant was very busy but this added to the atmosphere. It is frequented by locals which is a good sign even saw Sepp Blatter who apparently lives close by. The table opposite was having a fondue which seems to be a very popular dish. It looked great and had I been staying longer would have tried it. Note - Switzerland is expensive so don't visit if you're in a tight budget. That said Sierre has to be one of the most picturesque places I've visited in Europe. Take a drive up into the mountains and you'll find beautiful places to stay and eat. The roads wind their way up the side of the mountain but the views from the top are worth it.
