Apicius - Tisch reservieren

A friend from Clermont-Ferrand took me to Apicius for a special occasion. I have eaten in many restaurants in Clermont-Ferrand and in France over the past 10 years and this is by far the best restaurant I have visited. I liked the atmosphere and the lay-out of the restaurant as in contrast to other top quality restaurants we had plenty of space and could easily hear each other. I have a weakness for fois gras and it was absolutely fabulous. Each of us had different meals so we were able to taste 3 different entrees, main courses, desserts (and of course cheese). The food was extremely fine and by that I mean each dish opened up different taste buds and the combinations were refreshing and enticing. One has to eat slowly here as you will want to savor the surprising flavor combinations. Par for the course for a restaurant in the Auvergne, the cheese was exceptional and the dessert incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant! In contrast to some reviews, I found the prices appropriate and the price quality ratio exceptional.

Pricy, a bit depressing atmosphere, but good !Being in Clermont-Ferrand I wanted to try one of the “starred” restaurants.Having tried some others before, I went for a new one : Apicius.The website was very nice.First I realized it was closed on weekends. This is bad.Then I managed to go on a Monday.The atmosphere is rather depressing. It was only elderly people, not very crowded, no music and the atmosphere even if topped by some red sofas is cold.The service is much average, not worth as starred restaurant.The food is creative (but not too much) and real good.The wine list is not very good and too pricy for what it is.Overall a good experience thanks to the very innovative and good food.I would still recommend the place if you are not depressed and not on your own and rather numerous to create the atmosphere yourselves.

Came to eat here on the recommendation of my son who had a meal which he was extremely enthusiastic about in January. This is a bit of a special occasion restaurant (given the prices) but the quality is undeniable. Between us my wife and I ate extremely well with food which is imaginative, well sourced and impressively handled. The decor is striking without being over the top and the service is both extremely capable and lacking in over formality.

What a delight to arrive in this beautifully decorated restaurant.The welcome is warm and sincere and all is ready for your pleasures.Only the best products are used for this unique cuisine, full of originality and surprises.What a pleasure for the palate. Hope to return soon.

a festival of flavour from the starter up to the cheese and the desert. very hygh level !! the wine advised were perfectly choosen too. congratulation to the chief and all the team. we have really enjoyed !!!
