I've been here a few times, and I'm really impressed and the attitude really does. Located in Mapua, right next to the mouth, the Wharf offers fantastic scenery that softens easily while enjoying a meal. The service here is good and good enough, nothing fast, but not too slow. The staff is very friendly and there is nothing to fear in this department. The atmosphere and aesthetics are beautiful here with great views and a relaxed environment, it offers a very quiet and upscale feeling. Everything is light and open with a contemporary finish. The food is here a winner, especially the blue cheese Gnocchi, it had a great texture and the sauce was perfect. My partner had the fish and chips that were also very good, maybe the chips lack a slight marketability, but it is nothing really to complain. My friends also had the burger who was delicious. Overall, the place has a beautiful charm and relaxed feeling with views of fantastic landscape. The food is also very good and the service was efficient enough and the staff was very friendly for a great overall experience. It doesn't blow me completely away, but it has a nice relaxed environment with a certain eloquence over the place and I would definitely recommend this place for everyone who travels to the area.

After our stop here, we headed further north of the South Island and arrived in Nelson, our favourite town we visited during our New Zealand trip. When we got to our motel, we were told that a visit to the coastal town of Mapua was a must, so seeing as though it was less than half an hour away, we decided to head straight there for lunch. Mapua is a coastal town known for its apples. It’s a tiny little town with lots of fishing boats and a harbour bay area overlooking the Tasman Bay. We decided to lunch at The Apple Shed. I couldn’t go past ordering Fish and Chips (NZ$23.50), and A ordered the mussels (NZ$19.50). My fish and chips were the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Lovely place in a fabulous location on the wharf. We sat outside in the sheltered area and received lunch menus straight away. Was lovely eating our meals watching the tide coming in. We ordered the seafood chowder and the sticky pork ribs, both very satisfying and delicious. Seafood chowder full of fresh and smoked seafood. Great friendly, down to earth people and service. Recommend it!
Amazing view, great staff, food was perfect and I loved the cat who would visit the table again and again! Definitely one of the best restaurants I've ever visited.
