I just had one of the most frustrating and nonsensical drive-thru experiences in my life. All I wanted was two beef 'n 'cheddar melts, a medium order of curly fries, and a large Mello Yello. Then the woman told me that that was about $25. That didn 't sound right at all so I asked her to repeat the order back to me (although I find this raises serious questions about why she didn 't seem to already know to do this, seeing as how it 's standard procedure to repeat the customer 's order back to them after they 've given it just to make sure they 're getting it right).Lo and behold, the woman misheard what I said as two beef 'n 'cheddar MEALS . I tried correcting her and saying I wanted a melt and just the one. She said that they don 't have melts. I paused awkwardly and confusedly because this is the first time in all my years the person at the drive-thru didn 't know what a melt was. I explained to her that I was looking at a picture of a sandwich on their menu that was roast beef, nacho cheese, and two buns and that I 'd like to know what it was called. She said it was a beef 'n 'cheddar classic.I tried asking her what a melt was and how it was different from a classic. Her response: We don 't have those. I tried asking again what a melt was if I had been calling it the wrong thing. After all, she seemed to know it better than I did. Her response: We don 't have it For a third and final time, I try clarifying that I 'm just asking what a melt is for future reference. Her response: WE DON 'T HAVE IT. I sighed, asked her to cancel my order, she said okay, and I drove off. Whoever 's running this place, please have a long talk with this woman because this demonstration of a complete lack of listening skills, basic order-taking capabilities, and inability to answer a simple question about a menu item is shameful. Either way, I 'm never coming back. After all, these are the sorts of problems that tend to come from the top-down. If this type of employee is the norm from now on, I 'm deeply unimpressed. I don 't care whose niece she is.
