Never heard of the village of Socx, although it is a few miles away from Dunkerque where i often come. And Au Steger, was recommended by another restaurant in Bergues that was closed that day. Always good to have these 'collegial referrals'!Located in what seems to be a old local house, with low cealings and small rooms nitted together to a patchwork of places. But well upgraded and and sufficiently modernized to provide comfort as we like it, with a touch of tradition.Excellent food (we has aspegus 'à la flamande' and slow cooked pork chops. ALl was really excellent. Very professionnal staff. And kind. An excellent feeling that they are there for YOU, and not the opposite!Warmly recommended and on my shorlist in the area! Parking no problem.
L'accueil est très très agréable; on prend vos manteaux et vous accompagne jusqu’à votre table en s'assurant qu'elle vous convient. les apéritifs sont servis avec d'excellents amuses gueule faits maison. La commande est déjà prise en donnant toutes les explications souhaitées. Pas d'attente alors que presque toutes les tables sont prises.Les assiettes servies sont bien présentées et les mets sont délicieux, desserts également. Tout est fait maison. La gentillesse de la serveuse vaut le déplacement.
De retour au Steger , après un repas de saint valentin Sublime ! L'accueil y est trés sympathique ! Une carte de plats fait maison , choix difficile tellement il y a de whisky et de vin, mais avec l'aide de l'expert " le patron " un pur enchantement pour nos papilles ! Encore Merci .
We were very well received. The food was very nice and is reasonably priced. A good choice of different types of starters, main courses and desserts. A place to come back to.
