My wife and other friends were in Figeac last month for a wedding, and we wanted a delicious and unpretentious Saturday lunch. Since the few restaurants downtown were booked, we decided to drive 20 minutes outside of town to Espedaillac, a small village in the countryside. Such a lovely lunch! The restaurant has many outdoor tables, most communal and perfect for our group of 10. When the server explained the 3 and 4 course prix-fixe options, we decided that we needed all the courses : Onion soup, super-ripe melon and prosciutto, duck confit with crispy potatoes, and then cheese and a pastry finished it out. We drank their house red and white wines from carafes, as they were locally made in Cahors and very tasty and affordable. I believe we ended up paying about $20 USD per person, such a great deal for all that tasty local food.
Went twice, once Friday evening and once Sunday lunch. Good food, clear veg soup with bread in it, salad with duck gizzard in (very nice really) with pate/ham, choice at evening of duck, **** o van or lamb (all good), Sunday set main of lamb (very good), set pudding on evening but choice from two on Sunday lunch. All very good. Evening with half litre red wine each, Sunday half litre red wine per couple. Good quality and good value. Pleasant staff and good service. Always replaced bread basket when empty. Traditional French food. Enjoyable in good surroundings. We ate inside twice as raining both days. Recommend.
Went here with neighbours who have a house in nearby Saint Sulpice, they had not been before but had heard good things. We had a wonderful menu du jour of 5 courses, free wine and water. The menu wasn’t vegetarian but they amended some of the dishes to suit me which was very good of them. Food was excellent, can’t speak for the wine as I was driving but the others managed to get through a bottle and a half! Take note of the cutlery, made on the premises and available to buy. Thoroughly recommend.
Traditionally small menu but outstanding French fare. Excellent waiting staff and reasonably priced. We were plied with local wine, some of which was gratis and had a lovely evening in this small village. Absolutely recommend.
