The starters were interesting with many different tastes in each bite, but extremely small portion for the price, average over 28 CHF. The main course was good, I had the turbot and my husband reality enioyed the Iberic pork, excellent presentation! Unfortunately the service was done by the chef's wife who doesn't seem to enjoy people or what she does, and that is a definite "faux pas" in a high range restaurant such as this one, and this in itself is enough to make us want to go elsewhere next time! At the end of the dinner, we had the cheese plate with an assortment of 3 cheeses each, local from Blonay, but once again we felt let down, the cheese slice was so thin you could see through it and there was less than one bite in each slice...disappointing and stingy at best! In summary, overrated, and not worth the price considering the poor service and the very small portions. Will prefer to go elsewhere next time, where we are greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome!
This restaurant is one like many in small villages. It is usually supported by the village and has better prices than most other privately owned restaurants. We live in St-Legier and don't frequent Auberge Communale because the prices are very high. That is a bit uncommon as the restaurant is for the commune and supported by the locals. Otherwise, the service is good and the food is a bit high end but pleasant.
We were just looking for a lunch place close by on a Saturday early afternoon, checking for the closest recommendation on trip advisor. Thanks everyone writing reviews on this one before! We've had a wonderful experience, just having some salad and different choices of fish. The dishes were delicious and very creative. Very nice place!
If you are staying nearby or are crossing the region, you should absolutely visit this restaurant in a little village. The cuisine is not a traditional Swiss fondue-sausages but a high interesting experience! Everything was very tasty and beautifully served! The staff is very friendly! Come and try and will not be disappointed.
