We went for dinner at Auberge du Vieux Fermier in October 2016.The restaurant (with rooms above it) is house in a 17th century building beautifully renovated. There are two main rooms, which one could describe as the kitchen more intimate with a large working fireplace ; the "living room" more imposing. There's also the bistro which is very modern. Service was attentive if a bit slow. The owner, one of the chef, greated our table and proceeded to inform us about the - long - list of items available in addition to the menu. The menu is large and focus on local cuisine, mkre traditional than modern which is fitting with the surrounding. For appetizers, we tried the excellent Lucullus (local speciality of foie gras and smoked beef) ; crispy pig ears; tasty beef bone marrow; lobster salad well cooked ; cheese pie. The biggest hits in our mains was the piglet and the huge soles. The duck leg was flavourful and as large as a chicken leg! Desserts were tempting although we were fed by now. In any case do try the profiteroles and waffles with chocolate. All in all the food was excellent and portions generous. The wine selection was large and rather reasonably priced. It's an easy highly recommended, suitable for a special occasion.
