Auberge Paysanne de la Mer

We did the usual bike ride along the coast and stop for a glass of wine at one of the restaurants on the way between Saint Martin and La Couarde and trust me- this place is NOT TO BE MISSED! It is absolutely fantastic. Just to be able to sit there and look out to the sea and smell the freshness, and see the Oysters coming in... it's just lovely. We were quite a big group, with quite a lot of children, and we were accommodated very quickly and easily, and service with a smile. Our group ordered a lot of seafood and although I didn't have any (not my thing) the people I was with were absolutely thrilled with it. I had a lovely cold glass of white wine, which was perfect. Our kids were a little unruly, a little messy- to be expected after a long bike ride... but the staff dealt with us kindly and with understanding. This really is a fantastic place to stop off, an absolute MUST for any trip to Ile de Re. You will not be disappointed. Go go go.

If you are a fan of oysters or crevettes then you must stop here, either whilst cycling along the coast or by walking out of St Martin. The position is stunning with tables arranged along the waters edge with a great view out to sea. Staff were very friendly and the oysters the best I have tasted anywhere.Good quaffable wine at a reasonable price to accompany. The simple menu is all seafood so if your not a fan then possibly this is not the place for you, otherwise get there early because the place soon fills up due to its popularity and cheaper prices compared to St Martin.

Accueil très très agréable ! Nous avons dégusté un plateau de fruits de mer à 25 euros par personne, presque les pieds dans l'eau ...accompagné d'un vin blanc local.et cerise sur le gâteau ,les desserts une "tuerie" inattendue: Une pana cotta caramel et une tarte pistache griotte .A recommander !

Cher et indus vous payez la vue en fait et en liquide bien sûr ... pas d impôts à payer pour eux c est facile de s enrichir et tous les restos de cette façade de l île sont construits sur ce modèle économique !!!a vous de voir

Super sympa. Aussi bien l'accueil que les plats. Une vue sur la mer qui ne gâche rien...Ne pas hésiter pour passer un bon moment !
