Average, expensive food with good, interesting beer. Is it really worth the drive when you can buy the beers at Dan Murphy 's? First, the beers (off the $10 paddle): the Australian Pale Ale was the standout. Less hoppy than the Session, it struck a perfect balance with its deep, round body in the mouth. Very satisfying and perfect antidote to the searing autumn sun. the Seis Hermanos was, initially, disappointing as bland as a Corona (perhaps because it followed the APA). However, the corn sweetness from the maize bursts out of that deceptive start and leaves the longest finish of them all. Different from what is usually on offer, I 'd definitely have it again. the Session IPA was, well, a session IPA. A fresh, hoppy, fruity IPA but not as bitter and in your face as the more hipster versions of this style. I enjoyed it fresh off the tap but there are literally dozens of equivalent ones on the market. Beautiful orange colour perfect for autumn. the stout, Into The Void, was the most disappointing. More bitter than Guinness, it did not compensate by an increase in body or taste. Flat and overcharred is not a good stout. I had high expectations from the oatmeal description! Nevertheless, this explains why this is the one beer in the line up at the entrance that has no medals. can 't speak for the mango whatever, but she who had it finished it, so, I guess it 's alright. More than 50% good is pretty good for a brewery. I 'll be seeking the beers in Singapore. Amazingly for a brewery , the servers behind the bar admitted to not having tasted any of the beers and were unable to make a recommendation. They also were unable to locate a beer menu (there is a separate room with descriptions written on a chalk board). They did know about the two specials (a radler and a sour). The food: Unfortunately this could have been taken out of the freezer at a major supermarket chain and it would not have been much worse. The smoked BBQ pork and brisket had little smoke; the wings the exception, perhaps because of their excellent sauce. Both pork and beef looked like they spent some time under a heat lamp, dessicated and a little off colour, although the pork at least retained some moisture. The potato was a great size at least (unlike the meat portions). The chicken tenders (probably called something else) could similarly have come out of one of these cardboard boxes in the frozen section. I should have known, given the size of the menu. Unfortunately the prices do not favour experimentation to find the few items that are the specialty of the house. The tables next to us had pizzas which looked on the charred side. Pub food. At non pub prices. The location: It 's a nice drive through the hills, especially in autumn, with some beautiful views towards the mountains and relatively light traffic. Plenty of parking space even on a weekend. The main room is spacious, well lit and relatively quiet, the high ceiling of the children area unfortunately make it a cathedral of screams, but that 's life with kids... they certainly enjoyed being able to play. The crowd was relaxed, plenty of tattoos and T shirts (although no shorts, but it is cold this week), quite a few biker groups, both the speed rocket and the Harley varieties, and of course tons of families. If I lived nearby I would also come chill out with a beer. Conclusion: The problem was that we expected a food destination and a brewery and instead it 's a local pub/club (upstairs is a dance floor) that happens to be quite large and serve craft beers. Nice enough, if that 's your thing, but probably not worth the drive. My guess is they started off with good intentions and then the crowd defaulted to a pub crowd rather than beer lovers due to the distance from the city or even the denser parts of the hills.

Really did not enjoy my experience here. Prices are overpriced for the venue, service and quality of food. Definitely will not be returning. I ordered a steak which was very salty and tasted like it had been marinated in a bucket of salt. They also forgot my friends order so we had to remind them TWICE. Food eventually arrived after everyone finished their meals. They also charged me extra for paying with eftpos even though my order was more than $30....

Standard belgian waffle and while that is delicious in itself, the fact that it was only $8 dollars was amazing. Good place to go for dinner and drinks with family or friends if youre in the area.
