Baguettina Restaurant

We are a couple and made a bad judgement in choosing Baguettina to have dinner. The decor is excellent and if you would like to just sit inside it’s a pleasure. Our server was very nice and efficient. The design of the menu was also very good. Now let’s get to the important part of this review the food. Words like clueless, inferior presentation, unimaginative, poorly thought out spring to mind immediately. The antipasto starter came out of jars and was a tasteless jumble of mixed salad things with two slim pieces of cheese. The mozzarella tomato starter could have been created by a child and was tasteless, unimaginative, and thrown together. For mains we had steaks as we were hungry from hiking and boy what a mistake that was. Plates were cold. Steaks were of fairly reasonable quality but not cooked with imagination, zero understanding of how a steak should be cooked, tasteless and certainly very far below the standards of what I expected and am used to. I am therefore unable to recommend this restaurant to have a meal in. I have eaten in many restaurants in Santa Marta such as Cocos, Ouzo, Bistecca and this was my worst dining experience. I feel sad at giving it such a poor review as it has great potential but the standard of food presentation and cooking are awful and I won’t be back and won’t recommend it

Stopped in here for a bite to eat at lunch time. Very friendly staff with good service. We both ordered sandwiches. The panini style sandwiches were simply awesome! I had the Cuban sandwich with ham and pork. My wife had the chicken prosciutto sandwich. Both were excellent. The bread was so fresh, I think it had just been made. We are definitely going back for more during our visit here to Santa Marta. ENGLISH MENUS are available.

No, I'm sorry, this place doesn't make Italian food justice. The service is just as poor. We saw more smiles on a guard. Many unnecessary pomp, but they have no idea. Cold red wine and mozzarella that I had to turn back, since it was really not even close to the real thing. Too bad because with hotels nearby might be a good alternative to the Down Town Noisy decisions.

This is one of the lesser known places and that is a pity. Excellent variations of pasta and also very tender meat. But not one of those Italien restaurants with 200 different things and no speciality anymore. Very comfortable and cosy ... and excellent wines with reasonable prices.

Beautiful food with two waiters offer us almost too much attention, as there is only one other table occupied in this small but very beautiful restaurant. Fair prices...
