We tried Balkan House for the first time today. The obvious choice for a first-timer is the Döner Kabob. I went with beer and lamb, señora went with chicken they were quite large and full of meat. The meats were really tasty. The bread was some kind of fusion between a white bread roll and a pita pocket. Very tasty but unexpected. For all I know that is what is authentic in Germany. Fries were crisp and hot as we dined in and it was not busy. Service is fast casual and the person working the counter was very helpful. All in all we liked it all with the bread thing being ok. We will definitely return to try some items.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices.Kid-friendliness: Hopefully your kid likes good food. Portions are large but worst case scenario the fries are there.Parking: Parking is downtown Ferndale so pay to park event Sundays are free. The Park Ferndale app is decent.Wheelchair accessibility: No issues for wheelchairs.Dietary restrictions: Seemed like there were enough options to find simmering if someone had an allergen. Ask though!!
Loved the food here. Recommend the beef/lamb Doner. So full of flavor. Been here multiple times and never disappointed. The friend I met up with for dinner had gone there for lunch earlier in the day. Ordered fries with it too, outstanding. Small restaurant- seems like they do a ton of take out. Plentiful affordable parking behind the restaurant. They have a Hamtramck location too but I’ve never been. Can only assume just as good. The staff here was really friendly too.
The food was amazing, however the tables were a little tight. The guy that was helping us made us feel so loved and incredible. I would 100% recommend and the soup... oh the soup it was so good. Homemade not from a can. The building was also extremely clean.
Exceptional food try the Doner Kebab. I ordered takeout and waited no longer than 10 minutes when arriving. The person working the counter offered me free Baklava and apologized for the wait, which wasn't long at all. Will be back!
