Bar Restaurante Egoki

the egoki does not look much from the outside, only a local neighboring bar, but in the back is a large restaurant. the warning of the menu is only in Spanish and the waitress speaks very little English, but we found that the case. in any restaurant we have eaten in zarautz. as british we were the first two at 8 o'clock (also true for any other restaurant). the main menu is extensive, but we went for the menu del dia and that was on a Saturday night and only 15 euro per person. for 3 courses, a bottle (good drunk) wine and water amazing worth. there were 5/6 starters and the same number of netzens. as an appetizer I chose risotto with mushrooms, a huge part and absolutely perfect cooked with a dense fungal aroma really excellent. my man had pasta with garnel and mushrooms also generous and he really liked it. for the netzen john chose ersatzrippe des schweines, which fell with sweet cooked and apart. I went for ink fish in his own ink, which was as good as any other I had, it is one of my favorite dishes. we couldn't see a dessert. we returned on Monday night and the restaurant was not in use so that we were served in the bar the same menu del dia, except they had changed about the half of the choices on both start and netzen and this time the bill was 22 euro presumably because we were in the bar, instead of the restaurant, but the food quality was exactly the same. my man had spinat crepes and I went for sopa de pescado for about the third time this holiday and there is obviously a standard menu, but it is jolly good and this dish had much more solid fish in it than some others I had. johns porn was essentially fried chicken pieces (I said the menu was a little tricky, I can fish the meat / fish, but not necessarily how they are cooked) served with chips not terrible spanish, but good. I had thin slices of pork cooked to perfection very humid inside, while crispy outside. john slapped applecake for dessert and loved it.

I have never given a terrible review for any restaurant, but I fear this place deserves it. we had just visited the nearby photo museum (not on trip advisor, but worth a visit) and because it rained for the next restaurant. first signs were not good, it was almost empty at 2.30 on a Saturday afternoon and everything seemed wrong (including the dirty tablecloth). we chose the 15€ menu del dia, but found that there was quite everything from the deep fat frit and served in plucks of cooking oil. even the salate was disgusting, covered in a bright pink gloop. the brot was rocky and the service sloppy. to cover all alcohol-free drinks, we had not included the children in the price of the meal and also no more value tax. it was noticeable how full practically any other cash and resting was in zarautz. give them a miss.

average. Maybe it was better in the past, but for the weekend it is not a good choice. in the opposite it is better.
