I'm someone that's a spice wuss, and I got BURNED at Big's today. Whatever sauce they put on their jerk sandwich was enough to make my nose run, my eyes water, my mouth to burn, my ability to taste got demolished, and me to drink 64 oz of tea after one bite! I had to de-construct my huge sandwich it was so large you couldn't fit it in your mouth fully assembled) scrape off the hot sauce from what I could avoid the parts of the sandwich too saturated in the sauce. Iended up eating only about half of the contents of the sandwich. The black eyed peas I chose as a side were swimming in oil. It's enough to do one of those Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Nightmare style dramatic oil pour outs! meaning excessiveamounts of oil) The non-alcoholic drink offerings were just very usual fountain sodas, and they forgot my pickles that I ordered with my sandwich. : I think, from what I could still taste, that the flavors are quite good, but from aself-proclaimed spice-wuss, this meal was far too painful to enjoy.
Bigs is AWESOME! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The chicken was perfection. Honestly, everything was perfection. I?ve had plenty of fried chicken in my life and this is one of the best I ever had. The fried Mac and cheese was crispy as well and not soggy at all. The covered Jojos had a great flavor to them. We were just there on Saturday and plan to go back this weekend as well. This will be a regular stop for us when in Portland I?m sure. I just wish I livedcloser! I would spend way too much time and money here.
Hello my foodie peeps! I just tried this place for lunch and it was so good! A friendly laid-back atmosphere didn't have time to eat there but enjoyed it on the take -out end. I'll definitely be back if I'm near the area working. I had their burger and their black eyed peas. Delicious! Thanks for guys for great customer service and making feel welcomed! :
Juicy and tender chicken grilled to perfection. The ones I ordered came with potatoes and salad. Would love to come back there and try more food. Staffs are nice. Both inside and outside seatings available. Perfect place to get lunch.
