We thoroughly enjoyed our meals at this bistro. I think the prices here are slightly less inexpensive compared with the equivalent meals in the other restaurants in this town. The (I think) owner spoke English and, if needed, also has an english version menu. We selected both the 3 course Euro16 and the 4 course Euro 26 menus and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It's not high end dining here: no foams, micro herbs, nor sauce squiggles on the plate. It's exactly what bistro food is and should be unpretentious and both the quality and deliciousness of the food are what matters to the diners. I noticed that it has been a while since someone wrote a review for this bistrot and there are some OLD bad reviews so, here's one to encourage you to eat here you won't regret it.

On Saturday, we called at J P Moulinet, poissonnerie, (just up the street from the bistrot and who was about to close as we hoped to dine at his place. He told us to walk down to the bistrot, ask for Frederic, book a table and come back which we did. He then made up a fruit de mer platter for two (about 50€ which we took down to the bistrot were our table was set, rather craftily, in the window. Bread, wine, desert, coffee and some delicious Breton digestives followed (57€ and any number of passers by saw our supper and came in. A very happy dining experience that evolved somewhat by chance and with the help of Frederic and M. Moulinet became a memorable evening. Thank you Le Bistrot D'Ernest and J P M.

I visited twice during our stay, both visits were a pleasure! The staff are friendly and helpful with the menu. The food was excellent and the chef was eagerly popping his head through the servery each time his dishes went out to check the recipients reaction to his dishes. He would beam with pleasure at the slightest indication of satisfaction from the customers! Slightly away from the more touristy restaurants this Bistro is a good place to try for sound food and fair prices.

Happy welcome by friendly member of staff who spoke good English. We started with a Kir Breton whilst making our choices. We chose the menu De La Jour at 16e that had a good selection for each course. The Gratin de Moules were tasty as was the pate. I have had nicer steaks but the sauce was good. The Travers De Porc was tender and very good. Finished with a Crème Brule and a Ile Flottant, both were superb..Parking opposite apart from when the morning market is in town.
