Visited Murten with my friends. We were fascinated of this cloistered old town... beautiful old building, small shops, terraces cafe and restaurants. In my own impression Murten is like a small version of Bern in the old times. As we walked through its facade looking for place to eat and enjoy the company of my friends. We found this Bistrottino Restaurant, we were very curious because it's the busiest side of the town - I thought there was an event. Nevertheless, we walked in I found the place so warm and homey....we have to wait to get in a table for it was fully booked. Very accommodating staff and did a good job to squeeze us in and found us a corner. It's worth the waiting ...we love the FOOD it was SUPERB.... great pumpkin soup and the PIZZA scrumptious. I am in love with the AMBIENCE OF BISTROTTINO, it has this feeling of belongingness.... vibrant friendly environment, staff are so attentive. The owner work with her staff like a GOOD TEAM. For me that's personal touch of professionalism.
I visited this restaurant for lunch with my husband and young toddler. It was a busy day, but that doesn't excuse the service we received. When we ordered, I asked for them to bring the salad with all the main courses, so my son could get his food more quickly. Instead, they brought my son's pizza out pretty quickly, then 20 minutes later they brought my husband's salad and main course, then they asked me to remind them about what I had ordered. 20 minutes later, they brought me out the wrong dish! I ate it anyway, because I was starving, and my husband and son had long since finished their food and we wanted to leave. Also, at one point I saw our waiter arguing with one of the cooks. In the end, the bill they brought us was for my original (more expensive) order, and they had to change it. As an apology for everything, the waiter brought us a free dessert liqueur, which was hilarious as I was clearly eight months pregnant! I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We had dinner at this restaurant on the advice of the hotel. We do not regret listening to the recommendation. I had a very nice tournedos with an excellent sauce, very well prepared with handmade pommes and grilled vegetables. My son had steak tartare which was very tasty. Sitting outside on the terrace at this beautiful old street in Murten was a joy. The services was excellent. The lady who served us was very friendly and helpful.
We arrived in Murten late for dinner (by local standards) just after 9 PM and tried to dine at a couple of restaurants where they had stopped their dinner service. Thankfully the server at one of them referred us to Bistrottino. My wife had a very nice pizza and I had a beef Carpaccio with lots of Parmigianino cheese and thin slices of Alba truffles witch was excellent. A very pleasant surprise for dinner.
