Bob's Bar & Grill

My wife and I found this place on tripadvisor, and went to check it out today (Sunday.) We arrived at noon to find the parking lot just about empty, and very few customers inside. We thought it was unusual, and wondered why.Our food was good; we both got a burger - the bacon was spectacular, awesome home-made pretzel bun, good burger! The ambiance was nice, homey, old fashioned. Our trouble started when I asked for some mayo to go with my fries, and the waitress was snappy with me. We thought she was kidding, but when we asked for the bill, she pretty much exploded at us. She kept complaining at us about how hard her job is, and how inconvenient it is to have to keep going back and forth - but literally, all I asked for was mayo, and the bill at the end. We didn't get refills on pop or anything.During our meal a family of 7 came in, and we overheard the waitress telling them loudly that they should have called ahead, which seemed strange, since she was only serving us and two other tables at the time.So unfortunately I can't recommend this place, as I wouldn't wish such treatment of customers, upon anyone.I should also mention that the prices are quite high. My burger was good, but 16 bucks is a lot; I can get a phenomenal one at many fine dining places for 13 or less.

What looked to be a small mom and pop place was much bigger than we thought. Staff were friendly and attentive. The bread and buns are homemade. Beef dips were excellent as they were made of thinly sliced prime rib and served with fresh cut fries. Wanted a little zip for my beef and was given a mayo/horseradish which accompanied my dish nicely. You had a choice of salad or fries so one of us chose fries and the other a salad, which was ample to share. The patio out back, was far enough back that we didn't have to listen to street traffic. They have a small deli where Bob sells his home made smoked beef. Bought a couple of pounds for the coming week lunches. The smoked meat melted in your mouth, well worth the drive! We will be back.

Aldergrove has become our second favourite local destination. And when In Aldergrove you have to stop and see Bob !! .. eclectic farmhouse complete with the tools for ploughing the field . Ordered the "Blackened Tuna" lettuce to get the motor running .... okay bravo !! Superb. Fantastic and all the other cliche superlatives you can think of. Lisa ordered the salmon and wasn't s huge fan of the grapefruit creme sauce that perched menacingly atop her fish . My NY strip with peppercorn Pernod was exquisite. Dessert was deep fried ... thats a win win . Staff were very attentive from Lucy to all the Tammy's and beyond . We'll definitely return Kerry (Emoji Guy)

Hubby and I went up to Aldergrove today specifically to try dinner at Bob's and it was definitely worth the trip. Hubby had the brisket and I had the Almond Crusted Wild Salmon - both were delicious. We also tried the Homemade Foccacia and it was a treat, warm and tasty with a nice crunchy top, served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Brisket was served with fries, baked beans and coleslaw; salmon was served with awesome seasoned rice, a yellow pepper and zucchini mix, and red cabbage - so, so good. We would definitely recommend stopping here - and we will be back!

It's been a couple of years since we last passed through Aldergrove. We both thought of Bob's at the same time since we remembered good food and good service on our last visit.We weren't disappointed. Nice atmosphere, good food and good service all in one place. The hostess was one of those people who makes it seem you've always known them and she's glad to see you.I would highly recommend this establishment. If you haven't tried it - why?
