The Bouilleaux Pascal has been recognized for their artisanal craftsmanship and this becomes immediately apparent with every bite. We stopped each morning during our stay in the Argonne region to purchase breakfast pastries and our loaf of bread for the day. The selection is surprisingly large for the small size of the boulangerie. The owners were so very kind to we Americans with our halting French, and very helpful. A very pleasant surprise were the prices: because the Bouilleaux Pascal caters to locals (not tourists) the cost of 3 delicious pastries and a blissful loaf was only a few Euros. It was difficult not to splurge and fill a bag with food...but you will not leave Varennes without a loaf of bread for the trip!"
