O.K. It was late and I was exhausted. I had very little left to give myself. I do not speak french by order of an overbearing grandmother. No one has ever made more regretful of this than the clerk of this bakery. Her patience was so slim that when I pointed she simply said the name of the pastry and stared at me. I nodded yes and she waited to hear me repeat after her . She said it again I said yes in french the one word I do know. She repeated like a rude mother hen. I repeated after her per order and she looked at me and said yes ...in English. I said no..never mind...and left. The grocery around the corner had elegant bread and delightful clay crocks of the best yogurt I ever had. I went to Paris central the next day for desert. I was raised around french aunts that were demanding...the look on her face made them look like saints. Sorry but ...never again.
No proper Coffee! 1 EUR Coffee machine in the corner... Taste very BAD and if you choose Cappuccino like I did you get coffee/milk with chocolate...!? Tried to get my money back, but no way! Owner claim Cappuccino is made with Chocolate... Would think the only Bakery in the Village would at least understand that a fresh Croissant and Cappuccino is the way to do business in France... Do NOT go here for a Coffee break! Better choice is Aeroville Shopping Mall with a lot of option close by.
Wonderful breads and pastries; evidently the current owners are retiring, and are encouraging customers to continue with the new young baker arriving in September. Beautiful presentation, friendly service (obviously used to many tourists coming through).
This place has some great breads, fresh sandwiches and pastries, however they sell out very quickly and usually before 11-12.
