Brasserie La Renaissance

My husband was served what might have been the first draft beer of the day which was tainted. When we said this in French to our serveur he replied 'What am I supposed to do with this now?' My husband asked for a bottled beer as a replacement which was brought. We were astonished to find that we were charged for the two beers! We questioned this and were told that other people had had beer afterwards with no problem implying that we therefore had to pay. They were rude, talked back and spoiled our meal all over a debate about 4 euros because they did not accept the beer was no good. We felt perhaps we were treated dismissively because we were English speakers, perhaps passing through and not worth bothering about. They have lost our future business. This is not service. Very disappointed. We do not normally complain but my husband has created gold medal winning ciders and knows what he is talking about.

We had a really beautiful meal here.All the food is home made, fresh and fantastically presented to a very high standard.The staff take the time to fully explain each dish, and they genuinely seem to care that you enjoy your meal.I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I dined twice in the bistro but not in the restaurant. On one occasion I had breast of duck and on the other occasion I had tartiflet (sp?). The service was perfect and in each occasion the place soon filled up with locals, which is a good sign.

Food was outstanding. Foie gras superb. I had sweetbreads cordon bleu. Try the cheese plate after dinner including the pungent and delicious neuchatel.

Normally very good food but sometimes not as good as others! Generally friendly atmosphere with great staff.
