Another restaurant visited whilst visiting my Mum in France last week. We also tried the Friday lunchtime Moules et Frite tradition. The service was efficient and the three of us were treated to an absolutely massive bowl of Moules and the chips plentiful. We did it on a fixed price menu and had a salad starter and a decent dessert. It is right next door to a Butlins style pool and waterpark so there was a real family feel here too. Couldn 't fault it but can relate to the previous reviewers experience in that the staff had plentiful conversations with their obvious regulars while people were left waiting at times, but in fairness there were around five or six waitresses on duty so no one was left waiting for too long. A small but pleasant experience.
We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of our French friends for the Friday moules et frites . The waitress was very off hand and said they were finished (at 12.30! but it was hot and we didn 't have the energy to go elsewhere so we settled for salads instead. The salads were just about OK but all the time we were there, we saw bowls of mussels being trotted out to customers who were clearly regulars and well known to the staff. We asked 4 times for some ice for the water before eventually we got some. The bread had been cut some time earlier and was quite dry and stale. The price was reasonable but we felt rather like the uninvited guests at the wedding. We won 't be going back!
La Réstanque serves an excellent moules frites on Fridays at lunchtime. However, you cannot simply arrive on the day and order moules frites--they must be reserved a day or more ahead because the mussels are special ordered. The wait staff is friendly and very efficient. Eat there once and they will remember you and great you like an old friend. In warm weather, it is extremely pleasant to eat outside on the terrace.
simple restaurant but with, in majority, well cooked fresh products. very good relaxed and friendly atmosphere. perfect service for small care for customers. We'll be back.
