My wife and I had the house speciality, the sirloin steak with frites, special sauce and walnut salad. The steak arrives on a platter already cut which is a great touch. Unfortunately, ours were lukewarm and the "warmer" the platter sits on isn't effective as the little candle is in the middle but the 2 steaks are on the sides. The frites were disappointing ... perhaps not cooked enough and the walnuts would be best roasted before putting on salad. I guess we thought as this is the house speciality they would nail all three elements and frankly they should. We shared the profiterole dessert which was a surprise. It was yummy but isn't the usual one with custard inside the pastry rather an open "profiterole" with ice cream and delicious dark chocolate sauce. Three balls, all very delicious. The restaurant must be congratulated for the 4 different wine options: glass, 2 carafe sizes and 750ml bottle with a good selection of French wines. We enjoyed a rose and a cab sav mix which were both enjoyable. They came in these gorgeous 250ml carafes. Oh, they offer BYO wine as well during the week.I think our waitress was on her first night as she appeared lost most of the time. She spoke lovely French but when asked anything not on the menu she struggled, for example, a chef will usually have a preferred way of cooking steak and we always choose that way but our waitress didn't understand this is the standard. Oh well, she is learning.I'm not sure we'll be back because there are so many good choices of eateries these days.
