Although we never ate here we decided to call and have a drink after a meal elsewhere, I asked both the waitress and the owner for a wine menu to receive puzzled looks. Eventually I had to ask the owner to. E told 25 euros, now don't get me wrong I have no issue in paying for good wine but this wasn't it. I asked again for proof of the price to be shown a wine menu which had been mysteriously absent earlier. There it was at 25 euros the dearest wine they had. My wife and I stopped in on a sunny afternoon about 2.30 pm today, we wanted water so asked in our best French. We were given 2 glass bottles of vittel, 25cl no less. We asked to see a menu only to be told there were closed even though a French couple ordered not 1 minute prior to ourselves sitting down. When we asked for the bill the waiter said €6, we thought he was joking. €6 for 2 tiny bottles of water, when we questioned him he hung over the table looking like he wanted a fight. We begrudgingly paid and said to ourselves to always be more careful. We went down the road to a boulangerie who couldn't do enough for us. Only takes one bad apple to spoil a town. Avoid people.
We arrived in Sisteron at mid-day wanting a simple lunch. We saw that they had Croque Monsieur with salad and frites. How can you go wrong with Croque Monsieur?! Everything goes wrong when it is a frozen product (not made at the Brasserie) on tasteless white bread and then served with the ham still frozen - not just cold but frozen. Avoid this place at all costs.
