Brasserie Traiteur L'Oucedon

I have been to this brasserie many times as my partner and I often come to Chambery for holidays. We first discovered this place through a friend and now, we always make sure that we at least eat there once a trip. The food is gorgeous and fresh, and as they change their menu often and also have suggestions du jour, we are usually spoiled for choice. They have a terrace outside so in the summer, it is ever so nice to lunch with the mountains in the back-drop. Such a treat!Also the staff is ever so friendly but you might need to speak a little bit of French (I am sure they will do there best to communicate with you anyhow). And finally, it is extremely good value for money as it is very affordable for the quantity of food as well as the quality. We have been to places, especially in the city where the experience was like a joke (quality, quantity and service). And finally, they have a bar next door that offer the best wine and beer list you can find in the neighborhood! I would highly recommend this place!

I came to this place with some friends of mine and I was very surprise to find this little gem. If you get over the fact that it is off the beaten track of the main city of Chambery, you will discover a relaxed place that serves fantastic beers and offer a great wine list, accompanied by either sharing platters of charcuterie and cheese or even French dish, prepared with fresh products. Also, the team is ever so friendly and can be really fun, especially towards the end of the evening! There is an outdoor space where you can lounge around in big garden sofas or just enjoying the nice weather. You can mingle with people on the big table, but you have to speak a bit of French or be a little tipsy!Give it a try and if you ask for Jerome or Patrick, I am sure you will get a great welcome!

The poutine was very mediocre, but the steamed hot dogs were amazing, especially the coleslaw that goes on top of them.

This place is more of a one time thing! The subs are delicious but the combos are expensive.
