I went to this resto a while ago with my husband and son and the food was great and fresh. I think they must have a new team/management as the standard is now terrible. The guy that served us was very friendly and nice, an the set up and terrace also nice."

After walking out to the Fort de Socoa from St:Jean-de-Luz and before going back, I felt like a break. There are several restaurants next to each other close by the fort, but there was construction going on, so I ended up at the 'Café de la Plage ' in the bend of a street and quite removed from the beach. At a counter inside I asked for a 'bière blonde de pression ' and got a 'Grimbergen blonde ' in its typical goblet. After paying by cash (no credit card, please I took the glass outside. The outdoor seating is not too attractive, just by a street and quite removed from the beach, but I enjoyed my rather strong (6.7% 25ml Belgian abbey beer, which now gets produced by Carlsberg in various countries.
