The menu looks great and the introduction to the food talks about the fish being landed and cooked that day. Sadly that wasn’t our experience. We ordered the cold seafood platter for £35 and a fish stew. The stew was well flavoured and we’d have no complaints. However the platter had crab claws that had definitely not been cooked fresh. There were two oysters one of which was tiny. There was nothing on the plate to warrant a £35 price. I wonder if this place survives on the hype of Tobermory providing good shell fish. Unfortunately it isn’t served here. The waiters remark of ‘better luck next time’ maybe acknowledges the problem we had.

Had a pleasant enough meal here of good fish, but overall it was underwhelming compared with the reviews. A more traditional menu with the quality of the fish allowed to speak for itself might be a better strategy from my point of view.

I order Italian fish stew. It was so awesome that I wish I had asked for the recipe. But they have so many awesome dishes it's hard to believe this little place has a restaurant this good. One of the best restaurants I ever ate at
