Shocked - the evening was completely spoiled... We booked a table for the family dinner. Sat there waiting at the table for 15 minutes just for the waiter to bring us the menu (had to go inside and ask for it). After, it took them another 90 minutes (!!) to bring the food. Not mentioning that they forgot to bring drinks and we had to remind after waiting a long time. The explanation to me when I told them how I feel about the service was: there are just two waiters, we are fully booked and doing our best. I can tell they were not, and anyhow it is a completely wrong attitude even for Geneva, "famous" for its service. The food - when we got it - was really ok but average, nothing spectacular. We paid the bill and left. Never again.
Back at Café Fontaine, this time for lunch. It was a quiet Saturday afternoon and the terrace provided a cool retreat at the hottest time of the day. The lunch evolved at a nice speed, and the chef came out various times to chat with his guests. The food was superb, all fresh, original and well prepared. The amuse was a refreshing melon soup with a small smoked duck breast brochet. We then went through an refreshing octopus salad, veal steak tartare with olive oil, seared tuna with a delicious paprika sorbet, and ended with foursome desserts: four sorbets and four crèmes brulées. Compliments to the chef, it was another culinary adventure in Soral.
Ich reserviere mich in diesem Restaurant, um einige Zeit in der alten Küche zu verbringen, und ich bin sehr zufrieden damit, dass ich es geschafft habe. Jeder dieser Freunde muss ein Restaurant reservieren oder wir alle warten nach der Arbeit darauf, dass meine Wahl hier ankommt. Tout a été parfait. Ich habe die Zeit so lange verbracht, bis ich in einem Genfer Restaurant viel zu viel gegessen habe, die Gerichte waren hochwertig, die Qualität hoch und das Personal äußerst sympathisch. Ich kehre zum ersten Mal zur Krippe zurück.
C'est toujours un petit bonheur de venir dans ce restaurant de la campagne genevoise. Dans le cadre maintenu d'un vieux café, on y sert une nourriture fine et inventive à base notamment de produits régionaux, ceci grâce au talent du chef et de son équipe. La gentillesse et le sourire de la serveuse contribuent aussi à ces beaux moments.La minute de thon et son sorbet de poivrons... un délice.
