Cafe-Pizzeria Papageno

I had a horrible experience at this place. Me and a friend got our drinks and while waiting for our food my friend spilled some of her drinks on my clothes so I went inside to ask for help clean the mess on my clothing. I said hello to catch the attention of 2 employees who were working, no reply, so I said hello a couple more times no one looked at me I said it 1 more time so the male employee looked at me and said: WHAT? YOU WANT MY NUMBER? I said: what? what made you think I want your number? he said well, u kept saying hello hello. I woud have laughed or at least smiled if he was joking and just being funny, but the way he was addressing me was EXTREMELY RUDE and his whole attitude was just unbelievably out of line. There is more to tell but I think this is more than enough. I had to leave because nobody in there was cooperative nor understanding or considerate. Terrible terrible staff one of the worst restaurant experiences in my life...Needless to say that we did not atay for the meal.

We ate here on the second night of our stay in a neighbouring village having spent the day exploring St Gilgen. This restaurant caught our eye as it is so lovely to look at and very close to the lake. We took a lovely table outside by the fountain, this afforded us a view of the lake, the gardens and also meant we fould hear the local music festival nearby. We also found that as the bands processed round to the venue we had a clear view of all of them. The food was lovely and the older gentleman that served us was very pkeasant and had a better grip on English than we had on German! A very pleasant evening

We had a terrible experience here and I would not recommend to anyone to come to this cafe. I know the location is very touristic but walking 1m more to the lovely Cafe Angusta would worth it believe me. The waiters are extremely rude, drinks were awful and glasses are dirty. And they don't take credit cards even if they have the VISA sign on their door. They are so greedy that they don't want to take the charges. Please take my advice and DO NOT COME HERE!

Grat location, position and style of that place has so much going for it but sad that the food nor service stand up to it. Salads very soggy and salty, chicken breasts dry and unappetizing, service slow and uninterested. worst however was the mess and dangerous objects behind the restaurant in full view and easy access for kids who play in the adjacent play ground. Owners seem to have no passion anymore for their joint.

Stopped in here for an ice cream and coffee whilst waiting for the ferry, great place to watch the world go by. very fast service with great coffee and ice cream
