Cafeteria Churreria Canon

Arrived in Spain and of course wanted to eat my first traditional Spanish breakfast. This usually consists of Churros with a thick hot chocolate dipping sauce and toasted baguette with olive oil drizzled over and a fresh tomato (that have been wizzed up) spread on top. Both dishes are traditional and incredibly tasty and a great way to start the day. El Cañon in La Cala, Mijas-Costa is a very typical, local Spanish cafe. When you’re surrounded by locals, you know the food must be good! For both dishes (and it was a breakfast feast) we paid €10! A great start to a fab holiday and we definitely will return

While Churreria Cafeteria Canon is a local institution the churros and pitufos catalan (small sandwich with serrano ham and tomatoes) were average; the bread was hard and there was hardly any tomatoes on the bread. The coffee is average. The service is efficient, fast but lacks any warmth or friendlness. Keep in mind the churros are only available from 7.30AM to 12.30PM. The best part is the outside seating with ten tables overlooking the street and the early 7.30AM start. Price was it is in line with the area; 1.40 Euros for four churros, 2.70 Euro for a capuchino.

Great cafe/bar that's also a bakery. The food that is served is of a very high quality. I found the staff were helpful and efficient. All in all its a nice place to sit down and watch the world go by.

The best churros ever!!! Delicious coffee with fresh, hot, light churros and chocolate dip for very reasonable prices. Make sure to get here before 12h,30...the churros stop then!

Waitress was so friendly today. I'm sorry I didn't get her name, but she made the visit a very pleasant one.
