Can Bach - Tisch reservieren

Had heard good things about Can Bach and after sampling some great sherry , Vermut , Moscatel in their cellar decided to book for a meal there. Ate inside the traditional stone building and had very good service ....helpful, cheery not rushed! Huge starter portions (after pa amb tomaquet to make ourselves! ....escalivida with goats cheese was delicious as was salad with fruit /cheese. Main courses were the seafood cannelloni, chicken with prunes and veal fillet (solomillo which was described as the best ever ! Feeling very full but not wanting to miss out on the large dessert menu , all 3 chose a different option...walnut ice cream with ratafia......recuit cheese with fig jam and the best apple tarte tasting with cinnamon ice cream ...divine ! Coffees to follow ...a wonderful way to spend 3 hours! At approx 35 euros per person , with drinks pre dinner , wine and water this was great value and we will definitely return next holiday ! Costa Brava during summer is very busy and finding a place to have lunch on a terrace close to the sea is not an easy task. Anyway, it's not necessarily the best idea to go where the tourists go... So when I looked for a place between L'escala and Llafranc to meet with a friend, I directly skipped the cost. And it was a good decision because this is how I found Can Bach. Can Bach looks like a traditional Catalan restaurant... It is a traditional Catalan restaurant because most of the items on the menu are typical of Catalan cuisine but there's this touch of originality in the way they prepare the recipes that really makes it worth your while. Special mention for the salmon tartare that only Aline wanted to order but ended up being the best choice. Thanks, Aline! We rented a house in the area and Can Bach was recommended by our host. We were not disappointed. Lovely setting, great ambience to the interior, and a good range of choice on the menu. Between the 4 of us, chose gazpacho, Canelones de carne, Salade au fromage de chèvre, then for mains lamb shoulder, lamb chops and cod. Serving sizes generous to the extent we couldn't possibly try the desserts. Service attentive, and patient with our lack of Spanish. Easy parking in their carpark. I note it is rated mid-range pricing, but we would describe it as inexpensive.

We were staying in Pals in November and struggling to find any restaurants open. A friend advised us to try the Can Bach and we never regretted it. Just 5 minutes drive from Pals in a quiet part of the countryside, it has a lovely atmosphere, very pleasant and helpful staff who spoke various languages and really great food. There was a good choice on the menu and the prices were very reasonable. I would recommend it without any problem.

Excellent catalan-style food and environement! Ideal for a family dinner in the Empordà. We had croquetas, salmon tartar and Pals rice. Around 40 Euros per guest...
