If you 're nearby, you need to go here for dinner excellent food in a beautiful interior. Restaurant was pretty quiet when we were in, so we managed to get a table near the patio doors, giving a nice cool breeze. The head waiter talked us through the Spanish menu, explaining what each dish was and how the menu worked We had the 'local ' menu 5 tapas starters (inc. Gazpacho, a selection of local hot/cold sausages and stuffed filo twists , then a choice of stuffed Lamb or Turbot. I had the lamb, which genuinely was one of the best lamb dishes I 've had soft and perfectly cooked, so it just melted in your mouth. This was all accompanied by 3 bottles of the local white wine, which was delicious (hence the 3 bottles ! . All in, for 4 people, we were 140 euros for dinner, 3 bottles of wine, coffees and tip. Make the effort to come here if you 're in the Jalon Valley area you won 't regret it !
My wife and I finally went to Casa Julia last Sunday. Overall we enjoyed it very much. They have an á la carte and menu diario and you can select from either. We chose cod croquettes, meat balls and a delicious beef carpacio as starters and then both had the slow cooked shoulder of lamb. All were delightful. The ambience is traditional and welcoming and the service excellent. By local norms it it quite expensive but well worth it. Highly recommended.
Visited this quaint restaurant twice in the last two months with friends, not typical of the area but very interesting, on both occasions it has been very quiet. Service is lovely, very personal and a little old worldly. The menu of the day consists of a about 5 taster dishes, all very different from the norm. The lamb and fish were both very good. Would certainly go again.
Recommended by Felipe of Gutierrez de la Vega we enjoyed a very good lunch in this comfortable hotel with a gracious and kind host . The tasting menu with the house wine was delicious and cost €64. It's worth visiting the hotel for its eclectic decor! Were the surrealists and their maiden aunts ever here? Enjoy, it's Spain!
