"We were going for breakfast and had to wait one hour to receive our meal. I had to drive my daughter to the airport and I told the waitress it didn't seem to make a difference. We had to get our meals to go and then they gave me the wrong order. Very frustrating and not great food."

As an early riser, I learned that this tourist rose earlier than most of PEI...I was delighted to find Casa Mia Restaurant open for business right in the heart of downtown Charlottetown at 7:30!I saw staff setting up a table for a family on the patio and wandered inside and was immediately seated by what I think was an owner.I was impressed with how nice everyone was at this early hour! Chatty and smiles forward, I was approached by five different people offering coffee, asking about my breakfast and generally just being attentive!Best part? When my server asked what I felt like eating? I said I wasn't sure of having sweet or savoury. She immediately suggested combining the two dishes I was considering at no extra cost and I was impressed because THAT NEVER HAPPENS EVER! Most establishments discourage the changing or altering of menu items for a variety of valid reasons. That is why it is so refreshing to walk into an establishment that immediately considers change as an option to accommodate a consumer!Good on ya! Eat here often!
We stopped in before heading over to see "Anne of Green Gables." I wasn't impressed with the expensive menu, or the limited options, but we were a bit pressed for time. Service was less than expected. Overpriced for what you got, although the food was good. I asked for the bread several times, and it finally came at the very END of our meal -with a tiny bit of olive oil drizzed in a couple of spots. This was on a Saturday evening and the sign indicated that they closed at 6pm! Not the best experience.
Two people for breakfast cost $47 tip! Cafe latte was quite good, but the coffee was too weak. The omelettes were assembled with a pre-made egg pancake"--too round, thin and perfect, kind of dry and not nearly 3 whole eggs--then rolled with the fillings inside. Never seen anything like it. It wasn't very hot or fresh. The bacon was wafer thin, yet tasty. The potato hash comes with delicious caramelized onions and maple syrup. While the food was decent, the price is to steep for breakfast.
I had the Lasagna, my wife had eggplant parmigiana, kids had fettuccine Verdi, and 2 orders of chicken parmigiana. Wow food was excellent, very tasty and served hot. Everyone ate every bite. We even ordered extra bread so we could clean up the sauce on our plates. We also had a piece of pecan pie which was excellent. Service was quick and responsive.
