"Pretty much what you want in a Chinese Restaurant. Food is good, place is big enough, prices reasonable, BYO, parking at back. Sure it could always be better. Non stop entertainment, dancing girls, waitresses dressed in Asian gear. But for me it's pretty good."

Dined there this evening with my wife and sister. The restaurant was very full - especially with Asians (rather to be expected for a Chinese Restaurant). Nonetheless, we looked forward to an evening of tasty food - but at the end of the night we were very disappointed. Service was slow but we eventually ordered Sang Choy Bow and Curry Puffs for entrees and Salt and Pepper Squid & Prawns, Sizzling Fillet Steak and Special Fried Rice for mains. Well what a disappointment!! The Sang Choy Bow was tasteless - have no idea of what meat (if any) was used in the dish and the Curry Puffs were basically just puffs. They were the smallest Curry Puffs we have ever been served and they were tasteless too - almost no flavor of curry and the Puff Pastry was very oily. For Entrees we would only score a 2 or 3 out of 10. Then onto the mains - the salt and pepper squid and prawn - no taste of salt and pepper but a very nice bit of heat from some chili. However, the batter and subsequent dish was very oily - not nice to eat. The Sizzling Fillet Steak in special sauce was very ordinary - the Steak was tender but the sauce tasted as though it was a bottled sauce. Edible but certainly not memorable (well for the right reasons anyway). The Special Fried Rice was OK but also quite oily. To sum up the night - very ordinary and we are not likely to bother eating there again. It must be noted though - the patrons of an Asian background seemed to be ordering from a different Menu to that which was provided to non Asian patrons. Hopefully their food was tastier than that served to us.

I've been to this restaurant twice now with my family and found the food to be excellent and good value for money. The restaurant was packed during both visits. This is a quintessential Hong Kong Chinese restaurant. We had Queensland mud crab in XO sauce with vermicelli noodles, Hakka Braised Pork (Kau Yoke), a steamed perch and stir fried long beans. There appeared to be a lag between the different dishes with the crab being served first. It didn't really matter to us as the portion was large and the crab was a meal in itself. The perch was beautifully steamed with its flaky flesh segmenting upon contact with utensils. The Kau Yoke could have had some taro but this being the Hong Kong version was substituted with preserve mustard greens. Kelvin who was serving us made an excellent effort to present the day's specials to us despite our inability to read the Chinese-language menu. I'm surprised by preceding comments of poor service and food. I think there needs to be context. This restaurant focuses on authentic Hong Kong cuisine which prides itself in seafood and southern chinese dishes. This restaurant may not be great for Australian-inspired Chinese food such as sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken and Mongolian lamb.We found service to be attentive when needed and prompt when asked.

Look, I really hope we just got the chef on a bad night and all these lovely reviews are right. We ordered delivery from here and it was honestly the worst Chinese food we've ever had. I have seriously had better food from dodgy food court places.Out of about $100 of food we ended up binning $90 worth - and hell, I'm four months pregnant and have been willing to eat things that make my tablemates gag. All four of us ended up both queasy AND hungry, which is never a fun combination. On the plus side, I have been trying to get my husband to diet and he's never been more willing to leave food before. There's always a silver lining.

Yum Cha starters on a Saturday lunch.Prawn dumpling - prawn was toughScallop dumpling - Don't know how they made it taste fishy and old but that's what we got. So we decided not to order off the yum cha cart and go directly to the kitchen.Noodles - These were good.Sesame prawn rolls - Couldn't eat it. Absolutely drowned in oil
