Impromptu reservation for family and friends, a party of 7, for lunch. The plat du jour at 18 euro was great value and delicious. Starter of poached egg in a creme truffle sauce, chicken with the local Reblochon cheese and finally either tiramisu or pear with chocolate sauce. Local wines at a great price. It is a favourite for cyclists completing the col de Saxel climb. A great surprise. Friendly staff with lovely food. Cash only.

This restaurant is also a great local hunters' bar/café, with several having a petit verre before heading out in camouflage gear for a day of hunting. Opens early (0800). Easy to find and parking available right across the road.

Good place to rest after hiking around the signal des Voirons. Our filets de perches were delicious, especially with its lemon sauce. Good parking place.
