We were ready for a break from French cuisine and pizza and pasta and were in for such a pleasant surprise. We loved this Asian/ Vietnamese restaurant and even my vegan friend was delighted. We enjoyed it so much we went back three nights in a row. I splurged all three nights on the 22 Euro menu and ordered their Badoit mineral water and ice with lemon. I ordered the egg rolls which are to die for and you wrap them in lettuce leaves if you wish and assortment which included salad and butterfly shrimp, the Cantonese Rice (a simple and delicious fried style rice) with the sizzling spicy beef with cilantro. I rarely order beef but just could not resist this scrumptious dish! And the plate du resistance the freshest of fresh pineapple for dessert. I would stay another night in Avignon to just eat here one more time! My friend had the egg rolls a very generous portion of five! and th vegetables chow mein with noodles all so yummy. Loved sitting on the lively outdoor cafe seating with sidewalk violinist, but also enjoyed the cool indoor seating with no cigar smoke! So divine. You' ll love this place and everyone is so nice and kind!!!
Found this restaurant on TripAdvisor as we don 't know the area too well, and it was a pleasant surprise, I never have high expectations for Asian cuisine in France as I have only ever seem to find buffet libre . The food was excellent!! A bit pricey but there was a lot on one plate, we had trouble finishing !! Had a lovely evening, the chef and the waiters were great. Strongly recommend eating here if you love Asian food.
Very authentic vietnamese food, great quality but slightly expensive. We had a great time (family of 7) and the food was delicious. However, of you don't like spicy, you should tell them beforehand. The owner, a 70-year old lady was very nice. I definitely recommend if you like Vietnamese food, although the price is slightly expensive (menus between 30 and 60 euros)
Chez Xuan is the best Asian food in Thonon, but also the best in the region. Chef Philippe Thai cooks with love and technique and his plates are fresh and full of flavour. His staff is professional, the atmosphere is pleasant but most of all the food is amazing. Every bit worth it. I come here often (am local and work in the restaurant industry).
