We were guests at my cousin?s wedding. I?ll admit that some of the things that were wrong were not due to the venue themselves but more because of the options chosen by the couple. So for that reason, I am not listing those. However, what was caused by Cooper?s Landing was 100% avoidable: 1. This place is 0% ADA compliant. Something we wish we would have known as our family would not have booked this as the wedding venue. With a heavy wedding presence, that includes grandparents usually, you would think that this venue would think that being more handicap-accessible would be a priority. You would think that the ground would be even, there would be a ramp entrance to each area of the venue (there is one leading into the back yard, but that is it?and it is incredibly steep). Then there is the bathroom! I am 5?5 and average sized. My knees touched the wall when I sat on the toilet. I know all of the above from my experience of trying to help my handicapped grandmother navigate the venue during our family member?s wedding and reception. My grandmother who had to leave the reception early due to not being able to use the restroom at the facility and needing to go. 2. Water is not free. Even in the heat of June-for an outdoor wedding. You are required to pay $2 for water. However tea is free ? 3. The gravel parking lot is great?unless you have more than about 9-12 cars. Then you?re on the street. ?-again, hoping you?re not in need of any handicap parking, sidewalk ramp, etc. 4. Not sure what the title is of the blonde woman (she seemed like she was in charge based only on the way she was walking around) but she was very rude and not helpful. Nor did she care that I was trying to help my handicap grandmother navigate the venue. Writing this not to bash this venue, but to hopefully provide some insight to others that may be looking into holding an event here, and want some of this information that I wish we had
My husband and I celebrated our 37th anniversary at Cooper's Landing in the Sunshine Cottage, this weekend. Every person who we connected with there were super friendly and accommodating. The Cabin was quaint and perfect for our needs. The fridge was stocked with water and soda, Port Wine was available for a delicious treat, coffee pods for my coffeeholic, a microwave for my tea and treats if we needed a snack. We enjoyed Dinner at the inn which was absolutely delicious. I loved the warm robe provided so we could walk to the jacuzzi, which we enjoyed after dinner. We started a lovely fire at the fire pit, fire starter was provided and chatted with the guests in the adjoining cabin. The bed was comfy, although I was cold in the middle of the night, I didn't want to get out of the warm, comfy bed to lower the AC. Breakfast was delivered to our room. WOW, perfect beginning to our day. The quiche was great but the potatoes were so flavorful and I had never tasted some so delicious. It really was a wonderful stay and we look forward to returning soon. Thank you for a great anniversary treat.
We had our wedding here in March and everything was absolutely wonderful. We had guests at the inn for the whole weekend, including a sample meal, wedding ceremony and reception, and a farewell breakfast. Everything was nice and the food was tasty, all our guests couldn't stop making out how good the food was. From the moment my husband and I visited Cooper? s for our wedding location, we fell in love with the warm and cozy atmosphere. The rooms and cabins are all beautifully decorated and the grounds are beautiful every year. We cannot expect to come back to an anniversary or a weekend getaway! All employees were so friendly and helpful, and both Nichol and Terrill ensured that we knew they were available for everything we needed. Nichol worked hard with me throughout the planning process to ensure that we were satisfied with every aspect of our wedding, and she really helped calm my fear by always responding to my emails so quickly! I would recommend Cooper for someone looking for a romantic short holiday or an epic wedding!
My husband and I celebrated our 18th this weekend. Birthday by staying at Cooper's Landing Inn Traveler's Tavern in Clarksville, VA. Breakfast is included with your stay. You also have a restaurant with the inn. When booking our reservation, we let them know that we are vegan and they said it was no problem, they would make sure that we had vegan options for breakfast and dinner. You didn't disappoint! The food was on the spot! Nichol and her staff were very friendly and always helpful. We were in the Midsummer's Night room located in the main house. It was so incredibly beautiful and so comfortable. Seriously, if you are looking for a relaxing romantic short holiday, check it out!
