Costa Dorada - Tisch reservieren

Caught the train down from Barcelona and after a few hours exploring Sitges we decided to have a bite to eat. One of our friends had grown up in the nearby area and wanted to eat at a restaurant her family used to visit, unfortunately, this had gone. So we trusted Tripadvisor and landed up at Costadorada which is right on the waterfront across the road from the beach. Neat little place and which has very friendly staff. A busker was playing and entertaining the patrons. The food is perfect! For starters we had Steamed Mussels 13.5E which were great and fresh. We shared a grilled cuttlefish 16E a good size helping served with vegetables. Usually we order Calamari but they only fried their calamari so we tasted the grilled cuttlefish and we were very impressed with the taste and texture outstanding. Mains when in the Catalonia region its gota be Paella. The paella is for a minimum of 2 people so you have to multiply the price by 2. We ordered a Fish and shellfish one 22.5E and a Mixed one with meat and fish. Both the Paellas were outstanding the rice aldente and the seafood and meat a plenty. My Spanish friend also was impressed saying the taste was very authentic. Deserts we had the Catalone Mouse de crème 8.5E a decadent dessert served in a terracotta bowl similar looking to Crème Brulee but not as rich also with a hint of citrus again excellet. And lastly, a Nuage agrume(mousse) 8.5E most of us would call this chocolate mousse and it was enjoyable luckily it was shared between us as we had overindulged with the meal. To drink too much sangria one carafe of white and one of red and a few beers as well. After lunch a brisk walk to off the calories and luckily we were catching a train back to Barcelona after the beers and sangria we were a happy bunch! What a great seaside outing we couldn’t have asked for better food ambiance and the best waiter we encountered in two weeks of traveling in Spain. Go back of coarse next time in the area.

Sitges is an expensive city so everything comes as consequence. The position of the restaurant (the seafront pedestrian area of Sitges) and the view (you eat facing the sea and admiring the historical buildings around you) is what you mainly pay for. Paella was good but not exceptional and too much overpriced. Portions for two is what in other places is a single portion (with a better taste and more ingredients). I enjoyed the view meal once, but I would not personally return.

The paella we ordered was burned, with an horrible taste the stuck in our mouth for ages. I asked to have a new one, but unfortunately even that one was not much better. Terrible experience. Not recommended

A perfect location steps from the sea , the food was great , prawns ?, cuttlefish, tuna carpaccio! Delicious. The service was smooth and friendly.

safe bet when it comes to paellas probably one of the best of all Sitges. views over San Sebastian are good.
