Decided to have lunch at the Daily Gourmand, after reading some good reviews on Tripadvisor. It was a lovely day and we sat outside - got there relatively early and the outside seating area soon filled up. They have different menus - you can have sandwiches or hot meals, they offer 'formule' with a starter and main, or a main and dessert, with or without a drink. They call them Formule Popote. The waitress explained what we had to do and showed the menu - we had to go to bar to order our food - they do come in pots!! We ordered and the pots were taken away to be heated up as we had ordered the hot meals. We were given a tray each with a bread roll, our cold drink and cutlery then went back to our table. Our entree was served to us - a quiche in a glass bowl, and then later our main course, again in a glass pot or bowl. It was all very tasty, if not a bit unusual. Didn't see much food actually served on plates. Sandwiches and salads came in boxes. Saw number of people with plastic ducks on their trays - found out that you were given these so waiters/waitresses would know that you had ordered coffee as a drink, rather than a cold drink! Would certainly go there again to try out some of the other choices, but it is more suited for a lunchtime meal or snack, Don't even know if it is open in evenings. Good location by 'le port' at Vannes.
