The food was well cooked and tasty but the portions were small. Although highly recommended by friends we found the food was severely over priced. Tended to be more of an artistic creation that came from the kitchen, and definitely not a plateful of something to fill you. If you are looking for Hausmannskost look elsewhere. In general, nice enough but nearly 17 euro for a grill teller with 3 very small pieces of meat and a minimal portion of vegetables and what looked like chips/fries from McDonalds is definitely overpriced. The table next to us had pizzas and they looked good and were about the cheapest thing on the menu....at just under 10 Euros also a bit steep. Definitely better value can be had at any Italian restaurant. Our overall view is that we would not recommend it to our friends and we will not be in a rush to go back.
We visited Erl to come to the Wagner festival and found ourselves staying the Dresch Premieren Haus and eating most days at Beim Dresch. It was a truly wonderful experience. The service couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful and the food was absolutely delicious including delicious vegetarian options. We were at one of the Wagner operas every evening, which started at 5pm, and there was never any problem eating at any time of the day at the hotel. I would certainly come back here next time I am in Erl and would thoroughly recommend it as a very good place to eat and to stay.
During our visit, when we arrived in Erl, this was our way for three evenings in a row, and all three meals were excellent. I had a fabulous potato soup, a bit too salty Wiener Schnitzel (can the cook be a smoker? , a large salad and an excellent mousse au chocolat over the three days. Service was always friendly, but this is not surprising in this part of the world and during a big festival. Very recommended.
we came across Dresch by looking for a place to have dinner....wonderful place....great service, the food is way above the rest of local fare... the service is indulgent, no rush....the staff is knowlegable and well trainend the food is well presented and tastes a good as it looks will be back there next year.
